The Story of Nonna Lina

"NONNA LINA - Cucina Italiana" was born from love, memory, and tradition.

Orsolina Pampalone—affectionately known as Nonna Lina—was born in 1935 in the small village of Custonaci, in the province of Trapani, Sicily. A devoted wife, she was married and raised three sons, filling her home with warmth, discipline, and the unmistakable aroma of freshly made food.

Nonna Lina wasn’t a professional chef—she was something far greater. She cooked every day, from scratch, the way Sicilian mothers have for generations. Her kitchen was a place where simple ingredients became unforgettable meals, where pasta was rolled by hand, sauces simmered slowly, and food was an act of love.

Her youngest son, graduated in 1985 from the "Istituto Professionale Alberghiero di Stato" in Erice, and immediately began his journey in the food industry. His career took him across Italy, Switzerland, England and Bermuda, before eventually bringing him to Orlando in 1994. For decades, he worked exclusively in the food industry, refining his skills, learning different cuisines, and mastering operations—never forgetting where it all began: his mother’s kitchen.

In 2023, Nonna Lina passed away, leaving behind a legacy that could never be forgotten.

Naming the restaurant Nonna Lina was a family decision—made by her son with his wife, and their three children —to honor a woman who shaped not only their family, but their way of cooking, eating, and living.

This is more than a restaurant.
It is a tribute.

At Nonna Lina, we bring traditional Italian recipes into a modern, scratch-made fast-casual experience—imported pasta, quality ingredients, and flavors that tell a story. Every dish is inspired by Nonna Lina’s recipes, prepared with the same care, simplicity, and respect she showed every day in her home.

Because great food doesn’t need to be complicated—just real.
Just like Nonna Lina.
